We are excited to announce the early access launch of Go1’s new content player!

We've reimagined your learning experience on the Go1 platform, with the aptly named 1-Player. This feature enables you to undertake learning across all courses and standalone resources in 1 standardised interface.

The New content player will support the following learning resources:  

SCORM / Video / Document / Weblink / Text / LTI / Quiz / Assignment. 

For Events, users will be redirected to the standard event interface, and Integrations will be supported in a future update.

In its new form, the content player resolves the limitations users sometimes experienced when accessing learning, whilst also introducing a new and more streamlined content player. 

Open resources via the player and view summaries of each item before confirming enrolment!  🎉🎉

The overview panel on the right side makes it easy to see the contents of a course from within the player.

Users can navigate between different items in the course without having to leave the interface!



See clear indications of your completion status

In addition to the status being show in the top right corner, a special screen will also show for each item that has been successfully completed.

An overall simple and consistent experience

Go1 users can check the status of each learning item, as well as complete items more easily and clearly with buttons always being in the same location.

When exiting the 1-Player(using the X in the top left corner), users will be taken back to where they opened the learning item from. This also applies to customers accessing Go1 content in an external LMS. 

This is an exciting upgrade to the platform, so we are making it available through early access to Go1 portals that want to trial it now. We’d love to hear about your experience using the player, to ensure we gather feedback and guarantee the quality of the feature. We’d love to hear about your experience using 1-Player to ensure that it is a quality feature and meets all users’ expectations as much as possible. Please note that currently the 1-Player works best in desktop mode but we would love users to also give feedback on the mobile experience as well.

Take your teams's training to the next level with Go1’s Insights!  

The new Insights Feature is your playbook for addressing key training gaps in your team. 

As the Go1 training library grows and your team expands,  we want you to be able to  easily understand more about how your team is learning. With this feature you can understand what your employees should be learning so they don't miss out on content most relevant to their training needs. 

The feature recommended the top courses for  content areas that your team currently has low engagement with. Our content suggestions are based on what hundreds of thousands of Go1 users are doing, narrowed down to your industry specifically. We then make it quick and easy for you to add the content to a group or assign to individuals. 

View a snapshot of key portal insights; this includes user management insights as well as insights on how your portal engaged with  with key content topics in your industry. 

View GO1's content suggestions  - which grouped according to the topics that your portal has low engagement with. 

Quickly assign suggested content to users or groups or quickly add content to your content portal selection. 

Enable a monthly  insights email for all Admins on your portal. 

What do I need to know about this release?

Your portal will have a new item in the drop menu called Insights. 

To enable a monthly isights email for all portal Admins head to Portal Settings > Notifications. 

We want to hear your feedback on the Insights tab!  Please submit feedback via our Public ProductBoard Portal.

Go1's newest feature to help simplify the content discovery process for you. 

Product Early Access: Training Insights  

What we know - learner engagement is integral to your training program and you want more users interacting with your Go1 learning program. So, today we are introducing the new Explore Dashboard to boost user engagement and streamline content discovery on the platform. 

The Explore Dashboard was released to Early Access a few months ago, and now it is generally available to all Premium users. 

With this release you can personalise your content recommendations via the new Explore Dashboard, to help you more easily discover the right content for your team. 

Simply add or update your teams and topics portal information and Go1's content suggestions model, will showcase the courses that are best for your learners. Our model analyses the content enrolment trends of customers in the same industry and location as your organisation to then present tailored suggestions. Also you will see two additional content blocks on this page highlighting new content on the portal and trending content on the portal. Learn about the feature here.  

Explore Dashboard is available to all customers with Premium subscribed content enabled on their portal as determined by your Portal settings < Content Selection. If your organisation doesn't have that Premium content enabled, users will be taken to the search results page when they select Explore from the top navigation bar. 

To personalise the content recommendations for your portal, head to Portal Settings < Recommendations and select Improve Your Recommendations. 

To access the search results page(formerly Explore Page) begin your search in the search bar provided. 

The Explore Dashboard is available to all users on your platform, the topics of interest are only available for Admins to update in Portal Setting.  

The team has re-instated some previous functionality. Now when a user starts searching for content they will see a list of suggested content items drop down based on the keywords in the search. All suggestions will also identify the content item type: eg course, video, award. 

It's inevitable that user details may need updating if they have been entered incorrectly on set-up, or simply changed over time.

 We've updated the Administer role permissions, so it is more convenient for you to self-manage your user-base with the ability to edit the email address and name fields for learners from the Edit User pop-up. 

Note:  You can only change the email address of a user if its associated with your company domain and you need to be the Administrator across all portals they access to do that.

This update applies to Admins, who can also elect for Content Managers to have the same permissions. Read the how to docs here.

 Explore has evolved: read about the latest release!

Over the last few months, we have released a series of updates to our Early Access community, and we're excited to let you know that all new features are now generally available! Read on to find out more about the major updates. 

Now you can more easily group your content and share with your users!  

With this release, we've taken away the emphasis of the Groups feature being for discussions or notes. Now, with the updates, the feature will become more valuable for you to group relevant content items on your portal. For example, we have customers grouping content for a specific department, as well as different regions and teams. You can then assign specific learning to that group and/or share across portals. 

Ability to assign learning as well as add learning into a Group

For Admins - also experience easier management of Groups. This includes management of group creation, members,  and the sharing across portals.

You might also notice the New Groups has a different look and feel compared with other areas on the platform. This is because we are in the process of transitioning the look and feel of our platform, so you will notice more often older parts of the platform will be updated and new features will have this same look and feel!

You might also have spotted the Explore Search Results Page has a new look and feel. The interface of the search results page (formerly Explore) has been updated on all portals, for a more consistent search experience between different types of content. These refinements to searching will further streamline your content discovery process and create a seamless user experience across the platform. This release complements continuing updates Go1 is making to the search experience on the platform.

 It's been a busy few months for the Product team, so here's the round up of what's new on your platform!

Easily group your content to share with your users!

Preview the improved Groups feature, replacing what was previously called "Discussions".  

With this release, we've taken away the emphasis of the Groups feature being for discussions or notes. Now it is a feature you can use to group relevant content on your portal, for a specific department, region or team, which you can then assign to your learners or share across portals. 

Look forward to an enhanced Groups feature, to help Admins and Learners experience more value from their Groups; this includes

Clear difference between assigned learning as well as additional learning in a Group,

For Admins; easier management of Groups including the members, the creation process and the sharing across portals.

You will notice the look and feel of the Groups tab has been created inline with the new course editor interface. 

These updates will make it easy to view your Groups (which you are a member of or owner of) and all public Groups on your portal. 

The Groups creation pop-up, makes it easy to specify group title, description and the visibility settings in one easy flow.

This release has updated the concept of Public Groups, so that now a Group is either shared with a person or your portal. If its public (and shared to the portal), a  user can see the Group (in Group Explore) and then choose to join. By default the visibility will be "Private", which means only users you add to the group can view it and join. 

Once you click through a Group, you can easily view from the Overview tab, 

Admins/Groups Owners can also see and Edit and Assign actions

Mange members easily via the Members tab:

The release provides you the ability to manage all the enrolment of members to a group, even across Groups shared to other portals.

As a Group Owner (or Admin), you can view the tally of total members in this group including members who have joined via another portal the group was shared with. You can easily add new members via the pop-up and excitingly also the Groups creator is no longer a member by default!

What is the difference between added to this group or assigned?

NEW: For courses you create on your portal you have the option to directly add the course to a Group, when you are in the course edit mode: Select the group from sharing suggestion list AND Select 'Can view' or 'Can enroll' permission. This course will now appear in the group!

If however, you want to assign learning with a due date, we suggest you do that via the assign button in the Groups interface. The content doesn't need to be added to the group in order to be assigned.

Having the option to add content as well as assign content, enables the Group to be a place to customise content for a subset of your users or for your portal; which your learners can then choose from. 

You can Share a group of content to another portal, which we suggest works for our customers with multiple portals. 

Ensure within Portal Settings < Portal Content Selection, your portal has accepted Groups shared to it. 

Now you can view the groups in Groups Explore, which you can join. 

If you share content groups across portals with Premium content with a course; portals without Premium will not be ale to access the Premium LI's . 

For content to be visible across portals, add the content to the group (do not assign), if you are sharing course across portals - assigned content can not be viewed in shared groups. 

 The permissions of learning which is added to a group will be inherited by all users . For example, if the learning item is shared   with 'can enroll' permissions to a Group and then that Group is shared to a portal with can view permissions, users within the shared portal can enroll into the course. 

Group Owners can only share their groups (groups that are created by them) to their current portal or other portals, whereas Portal Admins can share all groups (created on their portal). 

If content is assigned to that group, users will inherit the assigned content in their My Learning Dashboard and similarly if they leave the group the content will be un-assigned.

In 2019 some big changes are coming to the Go1 platform. 

Look forward to an advanced course builder including new Go1 Events functionalities:

Access a sleek split screen course editor. This means less clicks for you to create modules and content, and more intuitive to use when you are editing courses. 

Quickly re-use your own standalone learning resources across courses (for example PDF documents).

You will also be able to include Premium interactive files (if you are a subscriber), within your courses, to compliment your business content. 

Embed events within your course, and add specific pre-learning and post-learning. 

Experience streamlined event development; so you create the location once and our system remembers it.

Create single events that occur at different locations and/or different dates. 

We now better support variations in training types, with the option to elect the event as being online.

Highlights from the new course builder release

Select to + Add Learning, and select the resource type you want to add from the drop-down list (eg Document). Enter a title and select Create. 

Edit the resource via the split screen. The resource edit format is similar to the old version, just add a description, banner image and upload your content. 

-Select + Add Learning, and select the resource type you want to re-use. 

The re-use feature only applies to documents, text, Links, Uploaded Scorms and Video's (you have created outside the context of a course).  

Start typing the resource title, and the search will offer to create a new resource, or if there is an existing resource with the same name it will suggest you use that.

If you update the resource or its sharing settings within your course, it will update this instance of the learning resource inside this course and all other instances where the resources exists. 

The format of the course overview page has been updated for every course in Go1.  

Now you will easily be able to view all the content (including all resources and descriptions) that sits inside a course, separated via modules.  

Content completed will be marked by a green completion circle. 

Courses will no longer have a banner image. 

Where you would have previously added meta-data such as duration, tags and authors from the course overview settings tab - now you can do this within the course edit mode under the details tabs.

Now it's easier than ever to find, book, deliver and track face to face, blended, and online events through Go1! 

Add an event by selecting + Add Learning and enter your event name. 

Create your location (or re-use a location you have already created!)  

The event timezone will be the same as the portal locale, but will update based on the event location, with country and state used to detect timezone automatically.

This means you can duplicate a single event across different date sand/or location, giving your user the option to choose the event that suits them. This is useful for businesses with staff who are in different timezones and locations. 

Add an Attendee limit if you wish. If you apply a limit to an event date, once that limit is reached, no further users will be able to enrol, or be enrolled, into that Date.

NEW: A field when creating an event, allowing you to specify it is online.  The tip is to create the location first and select online and save, then add your event URL.  

The format is still familiar, but now it is easier to search through Explore via the: All, Courses, Events, Learning Resources and Awards tabs. 

The Course tab will be now show all courses available on the portal, based on the settings of content portal selection and if marketplace is enabled. 

The Events tabs, shows all events available in the portal. Users can find an event using the location      and date filters. After selecting the event you will navigate through to the course and see it's overview and if there is additional learning that must be completed before booking into the event. 

To find past events, use the custom date filter. Click through to view the course and it's event(s), you can mark event attendees from here.  

Book straight from the overview page.  Select which date (and location) you would like to attend and view all dates by clicking through from the event title and Book Now. 

For paid events, you will spot a refreshed payment flow. We still support manual payment. 

Upon enrolling into the course, users and Admins will receive a notification, with calendar attachment.

If you specify the content must be completed in the order listed, users will not be able to book into an event until they have completed pre learning. Completion rules explained here. 

The Event Overview page, will show all events (with the ability to search) and access attendees tab. 

Select on the event name from the course overview page. 

Via Administer, Selecting the Event name from Events report 

Via course report of the specific event, select the Title of any record where the type is Event

Managing attendees (via Event Overview page attendees tab)

From here you can bulk update attendances (only for past events)

Send email/in-app notification to attendees (via bulk notification feature)

Important: Attendees page, shows attendees from all of Dates of an Event, be careful when you do a bulk updating as this will update all attendees from every date. It helps to search for an attendee and select the bulk action, it will then perform only on filtered attendees.

 In today’s guide, discover everything you need to know about dynamically sharing your  Go1 reporting data using the URL available in Administer reports.

You might previously have spotted this button when creating reports in Go1, it asks if you want to make the data from this report available through a URL - continue reading if you want to find out how to use the link to generate reports in a Google Sheet application.

Where do I find a link to share my reports?

Reporting is available to Admins via the Administer tab.

Within each reporting tab, you will find the first report, which is a pre-configured by Go1 with your user data.

For each custom report you create, you will be able to generate a shared link.  Select save-as for the share button to appear. The pre-configured reports provided, do not create a shared link.

Important: It's worth noting, given you are transmitting data from a web application like Go1, the link that is generated is in the form of a JSON file and therefore it will require some manual steps and data manipulation to make the information consumable. 

If you do follow the steps,  it is a clear process to create a report outside of Go1.

In this article, we will be using Google Sheets for dynamic reporting. Google Sheets is a free application but you will need to set up an account here.

After creating your report in Go1 and generating a URL link, you will need to create a new blank Google Excel Spreadsheet.

On your spreadsheet - select Tools from the top navigation bar-> and then Script Editor.

Google script will load in a new tab: Delete all My function text from the sheet.

Paste the code from here into the blank sheet.

From the top navigation bar of the script editor,  select File > Rename.  Rename the script: ImportJSON.gs

In your original Google Sheet tab, input this formula into the bar:

"Link" is where you insert the share link from your Go1 report. Example: https://share.go1.co/reports/1b9ukk4j5n...

 Example: =ImportJSON("https://share.go1.co/reports/1b9ukk4j5nujsgoeg2jkv5nfucd4e6ha", "/hits/hits/")

As you can see,  now you can access all the Go1 data (including the meta-data) from the original Go1 customer report,  in your Google sheet. It is available for you to dynamically share outside of the Go1 Platform. 

JSON has limitations, it can only show you all the data or one specific piece of meta-data.

If there is a single piece of information from the original Go1 report you want to display in the report. You can easily choose to limit it by using one of these suggested additions to the end of the formula.

Webinar catchup: Go1 December Platform updates

The Go1 Product Guides are designed to help you learn some tips and tricks to better manage your Go1 Learning Platform. In today’s guide, you will discover everything you need to know about creating and managing a course. This guide will demonstrate how the new Go1 course creation flow works, for both creating courses and Standalone Learning Resources. The content in this guide is not transferable to the creation and/or management of Awards.  

Course versus a standalone learning resource?

If you have content that you want to include across different courses, create that content as a standalone learning resource. By building a library of standalone learning resources, you have ready-to-use content for when you create your courses. Don’t forget:  standalone learning resources are classified as; Text items, Documents, Web-link, Videos or Interactive files – they are not Quizzes or Events.

Including a Terms and Conditions document at the beginning of all your courses, requiring your student to acknowledge they’ve read it by marking it as complete.

If you create company onboarding courses that are department-specific you might still have general organisational content relevant across departments at the beginning of your courses. With content re-use, you can create a standalone Mission Statement PDF or Company Welcome Video, that you include across all onboarding courses!

How to create a Standalone Learning item?

Complete Title and additional meta-data fields 

Publish and Share. Share settings must be greater or equal to the share settings of the course you re-use the item in, that does mean it is able to be enrolled in outside of the course. 

You will notice with the redesign of courses, the layout is different but the fields are still the same.

Create a course and add; Title, description and image. You will also be asked to nominate a quick share setting.  For ease, select Only Me so your students can’t access the course whilst you building it. By selecting only me other admins on the portal will still be able to edit the course. We strongly suggest if you want your course cards to look consistent then ensure all fields are completed. 

In the Structure Tab, select the blue +Add to add Modules to your course. Modules are really useful if you want to group your learning resources according to their content. You can also include a quiz or assessment item at the end of each module to ensure your learner has sufficiently understood the content before they move onto more modules.

There are three types of Learning items to create

 Resources are Documents, Link, Videos, LTI tool, Weblink, Interactive file or Assignment, Quiz (with matching questions) and Events (look out for a separate guide on these).  All resources you create within the context of the LO will not be standalone.

Select a type of learning you want to add from the drop-down list of resources (eg Document) and create a new resource by completing the title. 

The right side of the page will highlight the overview of your new learning resource, and it will alert you that action is required.
